Book 3: Luke

Among many teachings in the book of Luke ('al-Luk') the main one is that Hozrot Isa al-Mosi is the only saviour for people of the whole world. When he came into the world, Hozrot Isa demonstrated how much he loves people. To the poor and needy, the helpless, orphans and the destitute he showed love and gave refuge. He also loved those whom the people of the world reject, neglect or despise, especially little children and shelterless women. He sought out any of Allah’s people who had gone away from the presence of Allah and gave them a place in Allah’s kingdom again. One name for Hozrot Isa Ruhullah which is often used is Bin Adom, or Son of Man, meaning Allah’s Representative in human form.

In the first chapter of this book we find al-Mosi coming into the world, this was Allah’s special will. And in the last chapter the manner he went up alive into heaven is related. This too was Allah’s special will, and is joyful news for the people of the whole world.

Many of this book’s teachings were given through parables or stories. The account of these teachings and miracles, wonders and preaching demonstrate that Hozrot Isa is Allah’s gift of grace for the people of the whole world. Only through him can forgiveness of all kinds of sin be obtained. He alone is the saviour of the whole world.

We see in chapter 19 verse 10 of this book that Hozrot Isa says, “I, the Son of Man, came into this world in order to seek and to save the lost.”

Hozrot Luke (r.a.) wrote this book by Allah’s command. From the Holy Noble Injil it can be found that Hozrot Luke was a qualified medical doctor by profession. When assisting Hozrot Isa’s Companion Hozrot Paulus he preached Allah’s word to various peoples of various nations. This book was written down as a book about 30 years after Hozrot Isa was taken from this world to heaven. This book is the first one written by Hozrot Luke. Later he wrote another book called Sahabi Nama, or History of the Companions.
